Hey, have a great Memorial Day.

The unofficial start of summer, even though my kids are still in school.

Here’s a photo I took at the park before going to the coffeeshop to write this.

Here are a few recommendations to check out over the long-ish weekend…

1. Writer Math at McSweeney’s

   If you think a piece is 100 percent done, it’s actually 45 percent done. To get it to 100 percent done, you can’t.

2. The first AI generated romcom is out this summer and it looks bad. At Futurism.

3. You need an attention cottage. From AJ Jacobs.

   • Like a she-shed or mancave but for your thoughts

   • Also, just like where a writer works

4. How Quentin Tarantino’s latest movie fell apart

Notes on reading/watching/listening

• Wrapping up Splinters by Leslie Jamison

• Finally starting to get into The Maniac by Benjamin Labatut. It’s a great addition to Oppenheimer if you enjoyed that movie

• Started going through The New City Catechism as a daily spiritual devotion

• Watched this Jeremy Lin documentary. Lin had a crazy run with the Knicks about a decade ago. It’s a good complement to both 1) Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and 2) NBA playoff season
