I've got a week off from editing and also from voice lessons. So I've been reading more, am engrossed by Mary Beard's witty history Emperor of Rome which is organized by theme, not chronology. And I've been reading my voice journals from almost my first lessons and enjoying the journey's ups and downs. This is the personal essay I published early on: https://www.levraphael.com/healthyaging-levraphael.pdf
It depends on the lesson (which I also record and play back between lessons). Sometimes it's particular focus on a line or even a vowel. Sometimes it's working on my legato. Sometimes it's about breathe and support. Sometimes it's just to note a part of the lesson I need to listen to more than once to cement an instruction/correction. Sometimes it's to jot down memorable things the teacher said, including but not limited to praise. :-)
Rest week is a great term, thanks.
